THE 10 WEEK COURSE 2021 IS FULL, WELCOME TO THE NEXT COURSE (2022)
Are you curious about yoga, but also feel a little scared and/or stressed about how to get started?
Or have you been to several yoga classes and still wonder what on earth the teacher means when they say you should leave space between your ears and shoulders, and breathe towards your heart space?
Are you perhaps curious why yoga is a spiritual practice and what the core teachings are?
Do you also ask yourself HOW, but really HOW to adjust your poses in sun salutation and other poses yoga teachers call ¨basic poses¨?
Like, how is it basic to breathe 10 breaths in downward facing dog?!
THIS 10 WEEKS COURSE IF FOR YOU.
This is what I promise you will take away from these 10 weeks with me:
To learn and relax in a small intimate group of max 12 people in the beautiful studio Leela Gamlebyen.
You will feel safe and secure in your sun salutation - you will feel good in your body and know how to continue on your own.
You will feel safe and secure in your high lunge, low lunge, warrior 1 and 2 as well as peaceful warrior.
(ps if you are thinking; what IS a high lunge, don’t worry, this is still for you, and you will know after 10 weeks.)
You will come into alignment with your hips and your shoulders and how the poses can work for YOU, and the body you were born with
You will learn how to adjust yourself in hip openings and shoulder opening poses - without hurting yourself or bringing the tension to another place in your body
You will figure out what twists are the best for where your body is now - and how you can adjust it in a couple of months
You will know what the 8 limbs of yoga are and hopefully feel curious to know more - THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT!
You will deeply relax into rest and digest (and get to know why it is so important) and get to know your breath
You will learn some pranayama (breath) techniques to use when you feel restless and/or anxious
You will learn how to be gentle with your body and mind - and that yoga is a journey
You will learn simple mindfulness techniques to use in your practice and daily life
You will eat 10 different healthy cakes (if you want, no pressure, but I do make healthy sugar & gluten free for sale after class, and you are welcome to buy yourself some if you feel like it)
You will laugh at yourself when I ask you to pee like a dog and paw your hands like a cat
You will leave this course feeling that you KNOW how to move your body forward on, so that you can use the movement of breath and body to soften and still your mind
